Appreciation and equality
Direct communication is very important to us and strengthens employee satisfaction, transparency and trust. Mutual appreciation and respect are basic prerequisites for the good teamwork on which the success of projects depends. Equality is a key principle of our everyday work. Targets and measures are clearly defined in our Equality Plan.
All employees have the opportunity to lease a bicycle from a specialist dealer of their choice, and we subsidise the cost of travel by public transport. When purchasing new vehicles we attach great importance to the benefits offered by hybrid and electric cars, and we have our own e-charging stations at our Rostock and Bremen offices.
We promote regular team activities, such as company parties and other events specific to office, department or specialisation as well as sporting and cultural events. The project-related excursions in particular are useful from both a technical and a teambuilding perspective.
Each employee receives, depending on his or her position, either an annual bonus or a special payment in accordance with his or her employment contract. Our staff also receive holiday pay, and bonuses are paid to acknowledge special achievements where authorised by managers. Special bonus payments are made to employees on special occasions
We make it possible for staff to work flexible hours and provide the technical framework required for mobile working. Such measures help to improve the compatibility of family life and career. Our “career work time” model also enables each employee to earn credit on his or her career work time account, which makes it possible to take time off work – for example, to care for relatives, to take a sabbatical or to reduce working hours in advance of retirement.
The opinions of our employees play an important role in how we establish our work processes. We have working groups for various subjects, with representatives from different offices and departments. And every two years we conduct a staff survey with a focus on improving staff motivation and retention and helping us recognise workplace risks. We also consult regularly with the company’s employee representatives.

We support our employees by promoting an active and healthy lifestyle, for increased wellbeing and happiness at work and in general. In the office, we understand the importance of providing each employee with an ergonomic workplace. We also arrange regular occupational health evaluations, and offer subsidies for preventive health courses and vision aids as part of our health management system. We are happy to support you!
Our employees can participate in our online "physically active breaktimes" initiative. We also subsidise “EGYM Wellpass” gym memberships. Further opportunities for sporting activity include our company dragon-boat team as well as various office running groups and football teams. For sports enthusiasts we cover the registration fee for various sporting events and organise our own annual sports events.
We follow family-oriented guidelines, on the basis of which we have been awarded the "Fortschrittsindex Vereinbarkeit” seal of Germany’s Federal Ministry for Family Affairs. We offer working models such as flexitime and job sharing, and two of our offices have a parent-child office. Our employees also receive 30 days of vacation per year, and additional paid leave on certain special occasions.

We take our responsibilities seriously in working towards a sustainable future. Our Sustainability Working Group takes the lead on this, working with a high degree of autonomy. The goal is to improve the CO2 balance of all our offices. We purchase green electricity and are a member of Rostock’s "Plastic-Free City" initiative. And all our renovation and renewal projects take environmental and climate protection into account.
Our IL Academy brings together and optimises the transfer of knowledge within the company. We organise tailor-made training programmes for the individual development of our employees. In addition to technical and soft-skills courses, we also offer ongoing language courses. We increasingly use e-learning methods to promote cross-location learning.
In consultation with our company’s employee council, we have established a company pension scheme for our employees. This includes the granting of a voluntary employer contribution where certain conditions are met and the implementation of the statutory right to deferred compensation taking any employer contributions into account.
