A14 autobahn, Mecklenburg-Vorpommern
Completion of section from Schwerin to Magdeburg
The new section of the A14 autobahn on the border between the German states of Brandenburg and Mecklenburg-Vorpommern closes a gap in the country’s highway network between the cities of Schwerin and Magdeburg. It also creates an important connection in the Trans-European Network (TEN) for transport, which has the goal of developing access to peripheral, less developed regions, and improves connections to the German ports on the Baltic Sea and to the A7, A9 and A10 autobahns. Planning and design services were provided for various construction measures, such as the construction of new autobahn (length approximately 10 km), stormwater retention reservoirs and crossing structures.
