Freie Universität Berlin
New Supramolecular Functional Architectures at Biointerfaces (SupraFAB) research building

A new research building is currently being built at Berlin’s Free University (Freie Universität Berlin), in the locality of Dahlem in Berlin’s borough of Steglitz-Zehlendorf. The new building is being constructed behind an existing institute building, and structurally connected to it. At this Institute for Supramolecular Functional Architectures at Biointerfaces (SupraFAB), with its total usable area of 3,600 m², researchers from the university’s biology, chemistry, pharmacy and physics departments will work together. The project includes the integration into the building of highly specialised research laboratories, low-vibration, precisely air-conditioned measuring rooms with storage spaces, and office, meeting and recreation rooms. The construction project is being part-financed with public money.
