Help for Schoolchildren

Inros Lackner hilft e.V. has been supporting humanitarian projects since 2020, working to improve living conditions in disadvantaged regions. This year, a special project was successfully completed: the construction of new lavatory facilities for the Pouthiprek Primary School in Cambodia.

The 500-child school faced considerable infrastructural challenges, particularly with respect to sanitation. The old toilet facility was hygienically inadequate, affecting the well-being of the schoolchildren. Thanks to the efforts of Inros Lackner hilft e. V., over 10,000 USD was provided for the construction of a new, modern toilet facility. The project was carried out with the support of a local construction company from the village of Pouthiprek. This decision was of particular importance as it involved the local community in the project. The on-site coordination was managed by Rainer Israel, Managing Director of Inros Lackner Cambodia and founding member of Inros Lackner hilft e. V.. Thanks to his close ties to the region, he was in a good position to oversee the design and construction work. An important contribution was also made by Kim Sokngim, a former student of Pouthiprek Primary School and current employee of Inros Lackner Cambodia. She has been committed to the ongoing development of her home village for many years. In the past, her efforts already led to the opening of a school library with computers and digital learning resources.

In August of this year, the new lavatory facilities were officially opened – an important step in improving the learning and living conditions of the schoolchildren.

“With the construction of the new lavatory facilities and access to clean water, we have been able to improve hygienic conditions at the school. We are particularly pleased that the work could be carried out in close cooperation with the local community.”
