Bukasa Port project
Visit by a delegation from the Ugandan project to Inros Lackner’s Bremen office.

The Bukasa Port construction project is one of East Africa’s biggest current infrastructure projects, and will significantly affect the (re-)distribution of goods in the entire region. Inros Lackner has been awarded the contract to develop a master plan for the inland port on Lake Victoria in Kampala. With the expected completion of the first construction phase in 2020, the port will be the continent’s largest inland port.

Twelve representatives of the Ugandan Ministry of Works and Transport, accompanied by staff of the company Gauff Engineering from Kampala and Nuremberg, visited the planning and design team in Bremen, and also visited Brake Port on the Weser river, in order to gain an impression of the key elements of the future port. The delegation then travelled to Duisburg to see the world’s largest inland port.
