Contract won for major project

A27 Bremerhaven

Bremen, September 2025: A consortium consisting of Inros Lackner and grbv Hannover has been awarded a contract to provide planning and design services for the construction and modernisation of the Bremerhaven-Zentrum interchange on the A27 motorway for the client Autobahn GmbH. Starting in 2027, this will be one of the largest construction sites in the region.

Over a period of approximately seven years, seven bridge structures will be renewed and modernised, along with other parts of the associated infrastructure and the B212 feeder road. These measures are necessary because after about 50 years of service, the interchange has reached the end of its design life. At the same time, traffic volumes are expected to double – to up to 60,000 vehicles per day – in the coming years. This places high demands in relation to safety, performance and environmental compatibility.

Our range of services includes:

  • Civil engineering structures: Project design and structural design for the new construction of the Moor Bridge, the Geeste Bridge and the Jan-Wichels-Weg Overpass, as well as, by grbv, the A27/B212 interchange structure, the B212 overpass over the Markfleet, the Hüllwiesen bridge over the B212 and the Thebushelmde bridge over the A27. (HOAI service phases 1, 2, 3 and 6).
  • Transportation infrastructure: Complete structural design (service phases 1–6); digital terrain model; visualisations; traffic and detour concepts; and noise and air pollution studies.
  • Environmental planning: Landscape management plan; environmental impact assessment with scoping; support in relation to species protection, the Water Framework Directive and climate; and impact and compensation analyses.
  • Additional services: Soil protection concepts; ecological supervision (including bat surveys); updates to traffic engineering studies to the year 2035; and hydraulic and hydrological calculations.

A particular focus is the construction of the new 1,450m-long Moor Bridge, which will kick off the overall construction phase in 2027 and is among the most technically demanding challenges. Inros Lackner is providing a range of interdisciplinary engineering services for this significant infrastructure project, and will help make the construction work progress more tangible through modern, visually appealing project communication: https://autobahn.projectatlas.app/a27-bremerhaven-moorbruecken/visualisierung
