Structural engineering for new building

Ceremony for fire station

Dorf Mecklenburg, November 2025: On November 13, 2025, a significant milestone was celebrated in Dorf Mecklenburg (Mecklenburg-Vorpommern): the topping-out ceremony for the town’s new fire station, which is being funded with public money. The client and building owner – the Dorf Mecklenburg municipal administration and the volunteer fire department – welcomed numerous guests from the fields of politics and administration and from across the region.

Inros Lackner was commissioned to provide the required structural engineering services for HOAI service phases 1 to 6. The new building is a robust structure on shallow foundations. Particular attention was paid to combining high load-bearing capacity with durable materials for the roof construction – the timber roof is being built with trussed rafters and laminated beams, achieving the required load-bearing capacity in a sustainable way.

The mayor praised the dedicated collaboration of all involved and noted the special challenges presented by the project. The building will provide 87 emergency personnel with modern, functional working conditions, including changing rooms and sanitary facilities with separate clean and dirty areas as well as a training room for approximately 40 people. It will also have an office, radio and telecommunications rooms, workshops and a vehicle hall with five parking spaces. Completion is scheduled for next year.
