Inros Lackner plays a key role in grid expansion

Milestone for the SuedOstLink

Rostock, April 2025: The SuedOstLink, one of the most important infrastructure projects for the energy transition in Germany, has made decisive progress. The Federal Network Agency has handed over the third and final planning approval notice to the 50Hertz project team. With the approval for the 88-kilometre section running through the Börde district and the Salzland district, building permission for the northern part of the project is now complete – paving the way for construction to begin along the approximately 270-kilometre-long power transmission route.

Inros Lackner SE has been supporting this major project as part of an engineering consortium since 2021, taking on key tasks along a section of the route that is around 180 kilometres long. Our team is making a significant contribution to the successful realisation of the project - with services in approval management, the preparation of tender documents and contract award support.

Inros Lackner has also been involved in construction management and local construction supervision since the start of the early construction measures in accordance with Section 44c EnWG in 2024. In future, the SuedOstLink will transport large volumes of wind power from northern Germany all the way to Bavaria. With a transmission capacity equivalent to the output of up to 1,400 wind turbines, the project is making a major contribution to energy security and the successful implementation of the energy transition.
