Opening of Leibniz Institute

New Technical centre

Leibniz Institute for Catalysis on the campus of the University of Rostock: The opening of its new transfer technology centre (pilot plant) will enable the knowledge gained from fundamental research at the university to be further developed for use in practice. The opening ceremony took place on July 4th, 2022 in the presence of Science Minister Bettina Martin, Economics Minister Reinhard Meyer, Prof. Dr. Ina Schieferdecker as representative of the BMBF, and Prorector Prof. Dr. Udo Kragl. In the new four-storey main building with adjoining test hall, the results from chemical research, including in the field of hydrogen technologies and the use of carbon dioxide, can be tested in practice for the first time in the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Inros Lackner was responsible for the technical building systems of the technical centre and the surrounding research buildings at all stages of the project, from preliminary design to site management.
