SENCON Senegal 2026
Inros Lackner was represented at the stand of Germany's Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) at SENCON Senegal 2026 – West Africa’s leading trade fair for construction, building materials, machinery and renewable energies. The fair is regarded as a key facilitator of discussion and networking across the region. Project engineers Awa Ba and Ramatoulaye Diaw from our Dakar office represented Inros Lackner at the shared stand. Both are involved in complex infrastructure projects in coastal and port regions across West Africa, including port developments in the Comoros as well as in Mauritania and Liberia. Their international project experience lies in the maritime sector – a key issue given the growing demand for resilient solutions for coasts and infrastructure.
Days of valuable exchanges and in-depth discussions
On 7 February, Dr Serigne Guèye Diop, Minister of Industry and Commerce of the Republic of Senegal, visited the joint GIZ stand. In conversation with our colleagues Awa Ba and Ramatoulaye Diaw, he emphasised how important it is for an international engineering company to also have women represented on site – an important signal for the industry.
In addition to personal exchanges, the focus of the trade fair was primarily on professional discussions. Our team members took part in a panel discussion and joined experts in discussing sustainable solutions for the planning and construction sector. The focus was on how infrastructure projects in Senegal can be implemented in a more resource-efficient and effective manner. Other participants on the panel were Gorane Sarr (NOMADAW), Stefan Wittek (MAX-truder GmbH), Kristian Nielsen (BATFUTUR Senegal) and Saidou Gay (UST Afrique).
Inros Lackner develops KPIs for more sustainable infrastructure projects, which are systematically incorporated into the variant assessment alongside costs and constructability. The aim is to identify solutions that equally address environmental, social and economic requirements. The dialogue at SENCON Senegal 2026 confirms the relevance of this approach and helped pave the way for future projects and partnerships in the region.
