50hertz Office Building, Berlin
The new building is the first in the world to receive the "DGNB Diamond" award.
In Berlin Mitte, the 50Hertz Netzquartier was newly built on an area of 8,145 m². The office building for around 650 employees is the German headquarters of 50Hertz and integrates the TCC replacement control centre. Inros Lackner was responsible for the façade planning, structural engineering, geotechnical engineering, building services, fire protection, thermal building physics and energy design. The project team was awarded the MV Engineering Prize 2017 for its demanding planning services. The jury particularly appreciated the open structural concept with large glass façades and the solution to the special requirements for heating, ventilation technology and energy demand. The overall project was awarded gold by the DGNB and LEED as leading sustainability certification systems and with the "DGNB Diamond" award.
