Bauhaus Museum, Dessau

The Bauhaus Dessau Foundation has opened the new museum in the city of Dessau to mark the 100th anniversary of the Bauhaus in 2019. The centrepiece of the new museum is its first floor, with its so-called Black Box, where the foundation’s approximately 40,000 catalogued collection pieces relating to Bauhaus will be shown. Roughly 1,500 m² of exhibition space will be available on the upper floor for presentation of the collection, and 600 m² on the ground floor for temporary exhibitions. There is a high degree of public awareness about the project, which is being financed via a public grant procedure.
