Hanoi Cultural Center, Vietnam

A modern multifunctional cultural center is being built in the narrow alleys of Hanoi's Old Quarter. On the one hand, it will reflect the identity of the 1,000-year-old Old Quarter, and at the same time, as a modern event and seminar building, it will become a focal point for visitors of all generations. Since public space is lacking in the old town, the first floor and the first basement level will be designed as an open and flexible plaza. Multifunctional and modern event and seminar rooms will be created on the upper floors. The facade takes up the staggered roof form of the old town. The event technology is planned on very limited available space and the automated parking garage in the basement on 3 levels. It offers space for 30 vehicles and is designed as a watertight white tank. It rests on 72 drilled piles, which are founded at a depth of 40 meters.
