Nam an Timeshare, Da Nang

The 7.5-hectare Nam An Resort is located in the immediate vicinity of the Marble Mountains and is one of the most popular resorts on this stretch of coast. To cope with the high number of visitors, the “timeshare” holiday model was introduced, which makes it possible for owners to spend their holidays throughout the year in diff erent apartments. Based on this idea, the design shows twelve building parts representing the months of a year, arranged like a clock face around a seven-storey atrium. The sea breeze can blow through the airy building, creating a pleasant microclimate. The automatically irrigated, greened facades provide additional protection from the sun‘s rays so that the demands on the air-conditioning systems can be signifi cantly reduced in the summer months.
