Petriviertel residential development, Rostock
Urban building development

Between Warnow and Rostock’s old city centre, an attractive inner city residential and work area is being developed on a 15–hectare piece of land – the Petriviertel residential development. Inros Lackner performed the structural design for the client, Wohnungsgenossenschaft WARNOW e.G.  The whole building was constructed from reinforced concrete, with the structural support members designed using a 3D model and the finite element method. Due to the low bearing strength of the upper soil layers in Warnow Nähe, the structure had to be founded on 20m-long bored piles. To protect against flooding, the underground parking area was constructed as a waterproof concrete tank, with the entrances equipped with mobile flood protection devices.
