Bauhaus Museum Dessau
For the Bauhaus centenary in 2019, the Stiftung Bauhaus Dessau foundation is building a new museum (the Bauhaus Museum Dessau) in the city of Dessau, eastern Germany. The centrepiece of the new museum is its first floor, with its so-called Black Box, where the foundation’s approximately 40,000 catalogued collection pieces relating to Bauhaus will be shown. Roughly 1,500 m² of exhibition space will be available on the upper floor for presentation of the collection, and 600 m² on the ground floor for temporary exhibitions. There is a high degree of public awareness about the project, which is being financed via a public grant procedure.
