Technical building equipment for a multifunctional conference and concert venue

This multifunctional conference center, which is also capable of hosting concerts, is at the heart of the United Nations area in Bonn. It was constructed on an area of 32,000 m2, and includes a concert and conference hall for 3,700 guests, a number of meeting rooms for 100 to 500 people, and service, lounge and restaurant areas. Access to different areas is provided by a 2,500 m2 foyer with a glass Roof.

Technical building equipment planning/design services:

  • Medium and low voltage system (3 x 1600 kVA transformers)
  • Emergency power supply system (1600 kVA)
  • Multifunctional PA/sound system (100V technology), voice alarm system and reverberation extension System
  • Air-conditioning system (400,000 m³/h)
  • Central cooling system (approximately 2,900 kW), consisting of compression and absorption refrigerating machines, combined with an ice storage System
  • Central heating system (approximately 2,300 kW), from a combination of district heating, solar thermal generation and heat pumps
  • Water supply for firefighting, including hydrant and sprinkler System
  • Integrated sprinkler system activation in floor/roof slabs at each Level
  • Central building management system (BMS), based on LonWorks
