Takeo eye clinic, Cambodia
Reconstruction for more room and comfort
The promotion and development of healthcare is a focal point of international cooperation in Cambodia. Caritas Cambodia, supported by CBM (the Christian Blind Mission) and AusAid, financed the reconstruction of the eye clinic in Takeo. The clinic offers patients much needed, greatly improved treatment of eye diseases. Patients now have more room and more comfort, a central air conditioning system which supplies the operating theatre with germ-free air, and a water tank which is connected to firefighting facilities and which supplies the clinic with drinking water during dry periods. New classrooms enable a third level education and training programme for eye doctors and care personnel to be integrated – an important step in the ongoing development of the healthcare system.
iLi Consulting Engineers Mekong Ltd, a part-owned affiliated company of Inros Lackner SE, was responsible for the planning and design of the building and for monitoring its construction.
