Mercedes-Benz factory, Bremen

Extension of a manufacturing hall

The Mercedes-Benz factory in Bremen is the company’s centre of excellence for the popular C-Class line of vehicles. To support the production of future generations of C-Class vehicles, the body shell assembly hall required to be extended. With an area of 145,000 m², the hall is now four times larger than it was before. And following further extension work, the entire building will have two levels. At the west side, a new four-storey annex was built to house offices, locker rooms, recreation/break rooms and the required technical operations. For the necessary conveying plant, special steelwork levels were designed. On the hall’s roof, the existing ventilation and technology areas were extended, and a new ventilation plant location was provided.
