Tram Depot North, Magdeburg

The Magdeburg Transport Authority is constructing a new tram depot for about 90 trams in the north German city, to be known as Tram Depot North. The project also includes planning and design of a central workshop, social and office buildings, a tram parking building and a central storage facility. INROS LACKNER, working together with the design group Gestering | Knipping | de Vries, won the tender competition and is responsible for structural design, thermal insulation and fire protection. The workshop building is subdivided into two central workshop halls, which are equipped with six multifunctional work stations. Further workshop areas will be used for processing electromechanical components and for office and social spaces.
