Comprehensive school, Brandenburg
In 2012, the Oder-Spree district in Brandenburg implemented a new extension to the Comprehensive School 3 in the city Eisenhüttenstadt. Further plans to redesign the schoolyard included the extension building. The site was upgraded in terms of function and design, taking into account the preservation order. This was linked to the new layout of the school grounds in terms of access, supply and disposal, rainwater management and quality of stay. The school committees and pupils were actively involved in this process. Separate areas for communication, activities, rest and retreat were created to increase the quality of the stay, including new sports facilities, attractive seating, the design integration through the planting of additional trees and the revitalization of the school garden. Further replacement planting of tall trees to compensate for felling was carried out in the area.
