SüdLink substation, Baden-Württemberg

As part of the SuedLink project, a new converter is being built at the site of the existing substation in the municipality of Großgartach in order to be prepared for the tasks of the energy turnaround. The environmental planning department of the Stuttgart branch was commissioned with the ecological construction monitoring, the pedological construction monitoring, implementation planning for replacement habitats, implementation and monitoring of various nature conservation and species protection avoidance and compensation measures, as well as the resettlement of strictly protected animal species. The preparatory measures were completed with the clearing of the construction site in 2022. The new construction of the converter plant will also be supervised by the ecological construction monitoring team, as will the dismantling and construction of new high-voltage pylons and lines for the realignment of the line entry.
