Erfurt-Vieselbach substation, Sachsen
Construction of new 380 kV switchgear

The existing electrotechnical facility was modified and extended in a number of construction phases. A new operations building was built, along with three new transformer sites and sixteen switchgear units. Inros Lackner’s planning and design responsibilities also included gateway and plant foundations, foundations for transformers and inductors, roads, cable ducting and water supply and disposal pipework. A large separator (120 m3) was also included, for cleaning oil-contaminated rainwater, and an adequate firefighting water supply was ensured by the installation of a suitable tank (100 m3).

Particular points to be considered in the design work included ensuring that the ground surface had a gradient of 0.53% and that the 220 kV and 380 kV switchgear were at different levels.
