Ragow substation, Brandenburg
Construction of a new 380 kV switchgear facility
The existing 380 kV switchgear facility was modernised and extended in a number of construction phases. Three 300 MVA transformer sites and 15 switchgear units were newly constructed. The preparatory works carried out in advance of construction included the removal of facilities and the construction of temporary switchgear units. A new operations building was also constructed, for which Inros Lackner planned and designed the connecting roads and the required services including water supply and rainwater/wastewater disposal. Then, on the basis of a preliminary electrotechnical design, technical planning and design services were provided for the 15 switchgear units of the new 380 kV facility.
The new 300 MVA transformers were delivered via the substation’s railway connection track. To enable the transformers to be safely transferred from the delivering train, a transfer site was designed to ensure, in particular, that safe loading limits would not be exceeded.
