Thyrow substation, Brandenburg
Replacement of 220 kV with 380 kV switchgear
Thyrow substation forms part of the transmission network of Vattenfall Europe Transmission GmbH. Here, electrical energy from generating stations is transformed to a different voltage, and distributed via high-voltage power lines. In order to ensure reliable power supply, the 220 kV switchgear was renewed, at the same time modifying it to 380 kV.
The work was carried out in several phases. Construction measures for which Inros Lackner had planning and design responsibility included the removal of old facilities, ground levelling and the construction of fifteen switchgear units, four transformer sites and seven relay stations, plus cable ducting and roads.
