EnBW Baltic 2 wind farm, Baltic Sea
Total output of 288 megawatts (MW)

Following the successful commissioning of its predecessor Baltic 1, new targets were set for this offshore wind farm in the Baltic Sea. With 80 wind turbines on an area of 27 km2, Baltic 2 is four times bigger than Baltic 1 and, with a total output of 288 MW, can produce six times as much electricity. Depending on water depth, the turbines were mounted on single piled foundations (“monopoles”), or on three-legged steel structures (“jacket foundations”). The engineering partnership “Inros Lackner – Sellhorn – von Lieberman” was responsible for site supervision and on-site quality control, managing numerous particular technical and logistical challenges right up the commissioning stage.

Services:

  • Preliminary foundation ground assessment report, subsoil and foundation engineering expert reports
  • Planning and design, tendering and assistance in contract award in relation to the principal site investigations
  • Design of cabling within the wind farm
  • Tendering of the cabling within the wind farm in accordance with the FIDIC Yellow Book
  • Assistance in contract award in relation to cabling within the wind farm
