Waltershofer Bridges, Hamburg

The Waltershofer bridges with railway and road overpasses, which rest on a common substructure, are located in the western area of the Port of Hamburg. The structure from 1912 no longer met the traffic requirements. With the new construction, a milestone was reached in the large-scale project "Burchardkai connection". The position of the road axis and the existing clear height remained unchanged. As part of the renewal of the road bridge, an additional single-track bridge for the port railway was built. This bridge is located between the road bridge and the two western railway bridges.
