SuedOstLink+, MV

DC power connection from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern to Saxony-Anhalt

The SuedOstLink+ connection from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern to Saxony-Anhalt is being fully implemented as a high-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission link with two underground cable lines. The route extends southwest of Schwerin for approximately 212 km to the Börde district and represents the northward extension of the SuedOstLink transmission link. It will transport up to two gigawatts of power, equivalent to the electricity produced by 600 to 700 wind turbines. The underground cables will be laid primarily in PE 100-RT conduits. On a roughly 96km-long section between Saxony-Anhalt and the border with Lower Saxony in the Mechau area, Inros Lackner, as part of an engineering consortium, is responsible for the preliminary route planning and the subsequent detailed route planning, and is working on the planning process for the preferred route corridor and the planning approval procedure according to the former NABEG regulations. As part of the SuedOstLink+ route planning process, the company is conducting applicable studies and developing plans, and coordinating these with third parties, to ensure a route that meets permitting requirements.

This includes surveying the region to identify a preferred route corridor, defining a preliminary route within that corridor, and then developing a detailed proposal. The project also involves the assessment of the existing road and trail network to ensure accessibility during the construction, cable laying and installation work. The project team is supporting the client throughout the planning and tendering processes – including the detailed planning of access routes and work areas for cable laying and installation activities and the drafting of crossing agreements.
