Railway hub, Magdeburg

As part of the second expansion phase of the Magdeburg rail junction, the main station was redesigned with the aim of significantly improving operations. Entry and exit speeds were increased and shunting operations were optimized by redesigning the track plan. More than 100 points were saved in this subproject alone. The scope of planning included the upgrading and new construction of tracks and switches, the planning of passenger and freight elevators, stairways and platform roofs, track plan optimization and the adaptation of the overhead line system.
