CleanTech Business Park, Berlin
Provision of water management services

The CleanTech Business Park, with an area of 90 hectares, is located on the premises of a former water treatment plant in central Berlin. The industrial park facilitates virtually all industrial production processes as a result of the designation of a central zone for the provision of “incident facilities” in accordance with the German “Federal Control of Pollution Act” (BImSchG), with a 200m-deep protection zone. Inros Lackner was responsible for the design of engineering structures, for the handling of rainwater including structural design, for external areas and for technical equipment.

The provision of water management services constituted a significant part of the required infrastructure construction measures. Among other things, over 2,000 m of sewers and 2,500 m of surface water drainage pipes were designed, as were 55 manholes and 20 chambers. A rainwater drainage system was also designed. With an 80% degree of watertightness, rainwater is conveyed to a high-performance sedimentation facility. The construction of this new facility presented particular challenges for the design team.
