International Garden Exhibition 2017, Berlin
Provision of services

The 2017 International Garden Exhibition (“Internationale Gartenausstellung”, IGA) is to be held in Berlin’s “Gardens of the World” facility. In preparation, this facility is being extended and associated measures are being planned:

  • Drinking water and firefighting water supplies, including firefighting water tank and water pressurising plant
  • Wastewater disposal by gravity and pressurised water lines, including water disposal pumping plant
  • Electrotechnical cable systems and plant including transformer stations and cable car connections (high and low voltage)
  • Lighting cables and lights
  • Rainwater retention and seepage facilities for carpark drainage

In a first phase, the planning and design work is being carried out for the permanent utilities and services, and then follows the same for the temporary IGA requirements. The focus is on technically optimised, cost-effective solutions for meeting IGA needs from the main networks of via private connections. Inros Lackner was also appointed to create a coordinated pipework plan, to include not only its own designs and the existing services, but also the services designs of all other project participants.
