Flood Control Reservoir, Saxony
The construction of the flood retention basin near Niederpöbel is part of the flood protection concept of the Free State of Saxony. The basin with a dam height of 28 m and a retention volume of approx. 1.2 million m3 consists of a rockfill dam with asphalt concrete core sealing and was built in an ecologically highly sensitive area. Planned as a large dam according to DIN 19700, the structure integrates temporarily closable ecological and road culverts with steel gates as well as a spillway. Inros Lackner was responsible for the hydraulic engineering, traffic facilities, bridge and tunnel construction in an engineering consortium. The services include, among others, the water management and construction planning, the legal support of the planning in the planning approval procedure, the environmental planning as well as the construction supervision and the site management during the construction phase.
