Kehrwiederplatz, Hamburg
Inros Lackner is acting as general planner for the bank redevelopment at Kehrwiederplatz in Hamburg. The project area at the Zollkanal is extremely prominently located in front of the Miniaturwunderland in the heart of Hamburg's Speicherstadt. In an overall planning assessment of the bank protections of the Speicherstadt, static-constructive deficits were identified in the existing bank protection. These included the approx. 190 m long quay wall at Kehrwiderplatz, which was built in 1964. Within the scope of the planning, different renovation variants were developed and their economic viability was examined with regard to the special boundary conditions (influence of the tide, inner-city construction measure, protection of historical monuments, noise emission, etc.). The preferred option is a new pre-driven bank protection consisting of a single tie-back sheet pile wall with a reinforced concrete spar. In the planning as well as in the construction, special focus is placed on the avoidance of damage to the surrounding historic buildings, especially the adjacent bridge structures.
