Island harbour, Prerow
The new island harbour of Prerow on the Fischland-Darß-Zingst peninsula is being built to replace the emergency harbour of Darßer Ort. The aim is to secure sea rescue in the long term and to close and renaturalise the emergency harbour Darßer Ort, which is located in the core area of the national park "Vorpommersche Boddenlandschaft". The island harbour of Prerow will be built offshore off the coast of the municipality of Prerow as a marina for pleasure craft with commercial use.
The land-side connection will be via the approx. 720 m long pier. The harbour will provide berths for rescue cruisers of the DGzRS, boats of the DLRG, local fishermen and pleasure boats seeking protection. It also integrates commercial areas and an emergency berth for a ship up to 30 m in length.
