Bar ramp, Baden-Wuerttemberg
Creation of ecological continuity
In the course of implementing the European Water Framework Directive (WFD) in Baden-Württemberg, Inros Lackner was commissioned to create ecological passability for aquatic organisms at the Essel weir on the Murg in Gaggenau-Hörden. It is planned to dismantle the weir and the existing boulder ramp and to construct a bar ramp. In addition, the two guard rails upstream will be dismantled. The fall height of the Essel weir is approximately 1.35 m. Adjacent to the ramp, the bed of the Murg will be modelled. By modelling the watercourse, the ramp height is reduced to about 50 cm. This difference in height between the headwater and tailwater of the ramp is reduced with four basins.
