Pader River Landscape, Paderborn

Redesign of a headwaters area

Paderborn's historical cultural landscape still determines the development of the city in its various forms. It includes a distinctive monument topography as well as a unique river landscape with inner-city springs and river courses. From 2013 to 2014, an overall development concept was created for the Pader river landscape. The focus is on measures to enhance public perception, open access to springs and watercourses, and the creation of a network of paths with gaps and ecological continuity. WES GmbH Landschaftsarchitektur and Inros Lackner were commissioned to realise the project. As a specialist planner, Inros Lackner is responsible for the water engineering issues as well as for the bridge structures and traffic area planning.
