Container terminal Bremerhaven

The container terminals in Bremerhaven were built at the end of the 1960s and are exposed to a wide range of influences and loads due to their exposed location and intensive use. Structural inspections and investigations have shown that there is a need for short-term action to ensure the long-term operation of the container terminals. Within the framework of preliminary planning, different variants for the quay section CT 1 to 3a were examined. The construction measures will begin in the south in section CT 1 and continue in small sections in a northerly direction so that existing operations are only minimally affected. The construction time for the first berth is approximately 3 years. After completion of the first section, the other berths will be successively extended. The completion of the overall measure is planned for 2044.
