SEAPORT OF WISMAR, Germany

Expansion to secure competitiveness

The expansion of the seaport of Wismar secures the future-oriented competitiveness and the connection of the port-related industry in the immediate vicinity. With an investment volume of over 33 million euros, the 2nd construction phase is the largest port expansion in the history of the seaport. The measures include a berth for ships with a length of 260 m, land-side heavy goods areas and approx. 4.9 ha of new port handling areas. In addition, the requirements for the existing liquid cargo handling facilities as well as third party cooling water pipelines had to be taken into account during planning and construction supervision, which required considerable coordination services between the construction lots. The expansion was completed on schedule in February 2019.
