Electricity grid expansion
Infrastructure for the national “energy transition”
Ensuring future energy supplies is highly demanding in terms of planning, technology and approvals.
We support the development of high-performance grid infrastructure that transports electricity reliably and efficiently. High-voltage direct current (HVDC) transmission lines play a central role in this by facilitating the low-loss transport of large amounts of energy over long distances – for instance, connecting northern and southern Germany, and linking offshore wind farms. In the future, these power lines can be used to supply surplus electricity which can also be converted into hydrogen and used in various sectors.
Our work encompasses the engineering required along the entire process chain – from generation and transmission to distribution. We take an interdisciplinary approach and, in our role as General Planner, offer a broad range of services. Close collaboration with authorities, municipalities and clients is crucial.
